30 Day Sibling Challenge - Day Twelve
Day Twelve – Oh How Much Fruit is There?
“From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.” ~Acts 17:26-27
These verses amaze me really. Did you realize that before the foundation of the world was even created God in all His wisdom planned out your life? He knew what family you would be in, He knew what time period in history you would live and He even planned where you would live.
Do you ever wonder why you live in America instead of Africa? Why you have ten siblings instead of being an only child? Why you live in this century instead of the 1800’s? All of these details were planned out by God.
What does verse 27 say as to why God did this?
He placed each of us at the very best place in history, location, and family that would cause us to reach out for Him. He will not force any of us to choose Him. Yet His hand chose these very things to make it the best possible odds for us to call on Him. Isn’t that amazing?!
So that sibling that you really have a hard time with was a chosen instrument in your life by God to help you seek Him. Can you believe that?!
Also, talking about the fruit of the Spirit can be overwhelming because we will never fully live up. I don’t want you to be discouraged. I want to remind you that none of this you can live out on your own. You must do it in Christ alone submitted to the Holy Spirit. You must lay down your desires daily and live for Him. That is how you can walk this out. No condemnation for the faults you make. Remember and rest in the fact that Christ has already died for all your sin. Hang in there and keep walking this out. I have a feeling you will appreciate your siblings more as we keep going. I am praying for you!
Today’s Action
Honestly talk to your sibling about what part of the fruit that we discussed so far is the hardest for you to live out with them. We have learned so far about love, joy, peace, and patience. Offer to help them live it out more fully.
Parent’s Action
Again help them with these conversations and be honest about what is hardest for you.
