Day Ten – Peace I
Give You
But the fruit of the Spirit is….peace. Romans 5:22
John 14:27 states, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give
you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be
troubled and do not be afraid.”
John 16:33 states, “I have told you these things, so that in
me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I
have overcome the world.”
We can have this kind of deep seated peace when we know without
a shadow of a doubt that we belong to God. We are His and are secure. Do you
know this? If so you can have a peace knowing that whatever happens in your
life you can be ok. No matter the disagreement or fight, God has given you this
peace to trust Him. When we are mistreated we can have peace. We must trust Him
above all things.
Did you know that nothing, not even mean words from your sibling can come your
way without first going through God’s approval? Crazy huh? God knows every word
on our tongue before any of them are spoken (Psalm 139:4) and He is all
powerful so He could stop them yet they still are allowed to come our way. Can
we live at peace with that? When we trust Him as good and all powerful we can.
He is the One who loves us completely and if He has allowed some sort of
conflict to touch your life you better believe He will grow you through it.
You are the apple of His eye, He loves you so much He sings
songs over you and rejoices over you (Zephaniah 3:17). Trust whatever is in
your life and keep yourself in peace over it. Try to learn from it and become
more like Christ in the process.
Your Action
Discuss with your sibling a conflict from the past and how it has grown
you and allowed you to become more like Jesus.
Parent’s Action
Help them process this. You may need to help them think of a good
example where you have seen growth.
