Day Fourteen – Goody Goody and Reliability
But the fruit of the Spirit is …goodness. Galatians 5:22

Goodness is very similar to kindness as far as I can tell. It is defined as “an uprightness of heart and life, goodness, kindness.”

According to enduringword.com I can see that goodness has a difference where it is connected with generosity.

I would like you to be generous today toward your sibling. How to do this I do not know? Maybe loan something you usually would not. Maybe buy them something. Do something extra with them today that would be considered generous.

Reliability
But the fruit of the Spirit is …faithfulness. Galatians 5:22

Someone who is faithful is someone who has the character of reliability. Are you someone that can be counted on no matter what? Sometimes I see this the case toward others outside the home yet when it comes to family they are not reliable.

Let that not be the case in your home. God has given you your siblings as permanent members who will remain in your life. Others will come and go but your siblings will remain forever. Why not foster that friendship with them now by having the reputation of being one who is to be counted on. Let them know you will be there no matter what. They need you. You need each other.

1-Talk about ways you have been reliable to one another.

2-Confess some areas you have been unreliable or chosen other things over your siblings and ask for forgiveness.

Today’s Action
Find a way to be reliable and generous this week. If you need to restore your reputation with your sibling do so now. If not just make a pact to be reliable to one another no matter what.

Parent’s Action
Stress the importance of reliability and generosity to your children. Help with suggestions if needed. Show reliability and generosity in your own character.
