God is Great

I have another update to report on the Bible study "Abundant Grace" and Malta. If you are not familiar with the study yet you can see a short description or get a free copy here. If you are a regular reader here you already know what a long process this has been and may have even gone through the study with me here online.

My friend in Malta has been passing these studies to many different people around the island and getting them into many different denominational groups around the island. This is wonderful that God would chose to use it in that way but He is not finished with it yet. Yesterday my friend was given an audience with the Arch Bishop of the Catholic church of Malta. (The next person in line above him is the Pope.) They had a very productive meeting talking about God and the Bible and the importance of Bible study. He took my study and if he approves it then it will have permission to go into all of the churches on the island. Isn't that amazing?

I love how God uses the simple things. How He uses obedience. How He uses total dependence. How He uses unceasing prayer. God is so amazing and His plans are much more than we truly think or imagine.

When God had me start writing this study I had no idea what the big picture had in store. Every rejection had a purpose. It was not meant for them. Every hour spent on research was worth it. It was meant for advancing the Kingdom of God. Every detail though I did not understand, God knew. He knew all along. He knows all alone the plans He has for us. We just need to always trust and always follow with that persevering faith.

Blessing Always Follows Obedience

Isn't amazing how God lets us partner with Him in His work for the Kingdom? I am having one of those David moments where I am asking "Who am I God that you would be mindful of me?" Truth is I am nobody special. The only thing that is special in me is that I am a daughter of the most High King. I am made in His image. I am part of His family.

Yet God has so much more for us, His children. He allows us to be His ambassadors. It is amazing. I am not even sure I have the right words to describe it but I will try with my best ability. Three years ago or more God put the study Abundant Grace on my heart. I wrote it in obedience to Him. Then it just sat for all that time.

I often wondered what God meant when He had me write it. I knew it helped me know and love Him more so that was enough. Yet it still continued to haunt the back of my mind though for what other purpose was it written? Did I miss something? Was I not listening? I didn't want to miss anything God had for me to do. All I want is for His name to be famous.

Right before I visited the island of Malta God impressed on my heart to make that study a first fruits offering to Him. It was my first after all. So I readily offered it up. We started an online group for the study and it was great.

Then, God made it clear when I visited an island that I had never really paid much attention to before. Malta. Paul was shipwrecked there, other than that I did not know a thing. When I was there and got to know the people God impressed on me that the study was for them.

There is a woman there who is a mighty woman of God. A woman God has gifted with influence. God has impressed on her heart to make the study her main focus and ministry. Every place she goes she talks about the study. She is spreading the study all around the island.

The biggest breakthrough is that she took it to the head of a group who does not normally study the word of God for themselves. Tradition has taught them that it was not for the common man to study it. Tradition has taught them that it would drive them crazy because they could not understand it.

This group consists of over 10,000 people on the island. The head of this group read the study and said he liked it. It would be a good foundation to start with in studying God's Word. He is taking it to the council for their approval to spread to this group around the island. But the best part is that God impressed on His heart to start teaching the people to start studying the word of God for themselves. This is an absolutely amazing thing. More than I could even think or imagine. I stand amazed and in awe.

So would you please partner with us in prayer for this effort and group? If you are interested in praying would you please email me by clicking on the contact button above. Also, if God lays it on your heart to contribute financially to this effort or to have me as a speaker at an event please let me know. My information is on the speaking tab above. All proceeds will go toward the effort of printing this study in a more professional way and to send it to the people. No pressure at all, God is the holder of all things and will provide all we need to accomplish His work until completion.

Abundant Grace Week Six Discussion Questions AND giveaway

Well I will be back from Malta shortly. Please leave comments and I will review them all upon my return. I really hoped you enjoyed this Bible study. Please do leave me any feedback you have. I am going to start offering Bible studies more often so stay tuned.

To end this one I want to do a giveaway. I think we learned just how important the Word of God is. Because of that I want to give away this book, "How To Study Your Bible" by Kay Arthur. She is my inspiration and has taught me so much about how to study your Bible correctly. This approach to the study of the word is so fulfilling. Also, I will be throwing in one of my devotional books, "Standing on God's Promises" Devotional for Women. Also, I will be giving away some prayer bracelets from Voice of the Martyrs reminding us to pray for China AND a souvenir that I pick up from Malta.

Now all you have to do to enter is lift up a prayer for missionaries around the world and leave a comment. You can enter even if you did not participate in the study.

Study Questions
Regarding, Manasseh, Amon, Josiah, Jehoiachin, Joseph, and Mary:

1-Name some things that made these people ordinary.

2-What were their main challenges?

3-Of all of the people we learned about though this family line, who can you most relate to and why?

4-Who can you least relate to and why?

5-Does it surprise you that God uses ordinary people to accomplish His will?

6-What things will you do to be in line with the will of God in your life?

7-What did you learn new about God through this study?

9-Take a moment to share you personal testimony with the group.

Abundant Grace Week Five Discussion Questions

Hey everyone! You are doing such a great job. I especially love this week because as we study we get to see that leadership is so important when it comes to running our nation. This is a critical time to learn from these from the past so we can be helped with our future.

I am in Malta at this time so please discuss among yourselves. The next week's will be posted next Friday as well but I will still be out of the country. I will be excited to see what your thoughts have been.

Regarding Jehoshaphat, Jehoram, Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah:

1-What were some things that made these people ordinary?

2-What were their main challenges?

3-Does it surprise you that throughout this week we saw kings that were so very different? why or why not?

4-Whose kingdom most reflects our nation in your opinion?

5-These kings were very different, but from the same blood line. Do you have an example of how your family line is very different from one generation to another?

6-Do you realize that you are on one side, either God’s or satan’s? Ever think about it that way? Why or why not?

7-Is there anything you need to do to be certain you are on God’s side?

8-Have you ever had your faith tested? How did your respond?

9-Did you think to look at a trial as a good thing? Why or why not?

10-Do you see now how trials can either draw you closer to or further from God?
Give an example of either of these instances in your life.

11-Do you see how the people responded to the leaders?
What are your thoughts about this?
Based on what we learned, how important is it to have godly leaders?

Abundant Grace Week Four Disscussion Questions

*************UPDATE-The new week four podcast is now up.***************

You guys are doing a great job continuing on with this study. I just love the rich truths we are learning from each of these lives. God is so good.

Regarding Solomon, Rehoboam, Abijah, and Asa:

1-What are some things that made them ordinary?

2-What were their main challenges?

3-Are you starting to see the picture of God using ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things? Explain.

4-Does this give you hope?

5-If you could ask God for anything, what would it be and why?

6-How can you prevent your heart from being led astray like Solomon’s?

Psalm 119:9 may help you answer this question.

7-Does it surprise you that consequences of your choices could carry on to the next generation?

8-Do you see how the father’s (or mother’s) sins carry on to the next generation unless someone breaks the cycle? What needs broken in your family cycle or what has been broken?

9-List some ways you can make your heart fully devoted to God.

10-Is there anything in your life that keeps you distracted from God?

If so, what will you do about it?

11-Since nothing is impossible with God, give an example of something that was made possible in your life only by the power of God.

12-Share with the group what person in this week’s lesson stood out the most to you and why. Can you relate to any of them?

13-Notice how Solomon and Asa both took down the foreign altars in the beginning of their reigns but left the “high places.” What impact do you think that had, if any?

8-What did you learn from Ruth and Boaz?

Abundant Grace Week Two Discussion Questions

Wow-I am so proud of you all persevering in diligent study of the Word of God! May God richly bless your efforts to know Him better. I am loving all that we are learning together. Feel free to come back and post as often as you like. Let's get a discussion started together.

Regarding Jacob, Judah, and Tamar;

1-What are some things that made them ordinary?

2-What were their main challenges?

3-Deception continues to run rampant in this family. Do you know any families like this? Share your example with the group, for confidentiality purposes don’t share their names.

4-When God blesses His servants it spills over onto everything they do. Like Jacob, Laban prospered because of God’s blessing on Jacob. With that blessing often comes jealousy from others. Can you see and example of this in your church? Again, for confidentiality purposes don’t share names.

5-Despite our sinful condition, God does work all things for the good of those who are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). Can you give an example that you have seen of this in your life.

6-Friendships based on God are so important. Can you say this is true for your friendships? Explain.

I am not saying at all not to be friendly to non-believers. This is one way to reach out to them by living your faith so they can see it. Hanging out with them while they do non-believer things is not wise. By doing this it is very likely you will fall into temptation.

7-Have you ever seen an example of this happening in someone’s life?

I am so thrilled that we have completed a week of study together. What a blessing God's word brings us. I want us to take some of these questions that put a spark in your Spirit so that we can discuss them. They are just a guide to use. Please post any remarks or comments that you would like from the study.

Regarding Mary, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob:

1-What are some things that stood out to you that made these people ordinary?

2-What were their main challenges?

3-Like Abraham, are there any age related barriers set up against you in your life that you are currently experiencing?

4-Do you have any uncertain choices that need to be made like Abraham? Do you need to take a step of blind faith in obeying a task that God has given you? Explain.

5-If single, What is your motivation for dating? Are you waiting on God in this area of your life?

6-OR If your married are you giving proper respect to your husband? If you are a man are you showing proper love to your wife? Give examples.

7-Is there any deception or favoritism in your life that you need to deal with? Maybe with your family, friends, or a boss?

8-How are you handling this situation?

9-Are you encouraged that God can use whoever He chooses at whatever stage of life they are in? How does the fact that these men and women were hand-chosen by God to have the honor of being in the family line of Jesus bless you?

10-Do you have any doubt that you were hand chosen by God for this generation?
Why or why not?

11-What do you sense your purpose may be for your generation?
