Book Review: Joy in the Journey by Hayner
This book is an intimate look at a couple's journey with cancer. It is simply a diary. It records their trust and struggles with God through this journey. It is over all encouraging. It is written from the one who has cancer and from the caregiver. The author's are husband and wife.
Honestly, I think we all would do well to read things like this. People get so caught up in things that really do not matter. They put so much energy into things that really don't make a difference but when someone is hit with a serious illness it slows them enough to think, pause, and question life. It is important to do this from time to time. This book walks us through this process with this couple.
I found this book to be encouraging because it is real and honest regarding the struggle. Yet this couple held tight to the God they knew who loved them despite their understanding of their hard circumstances.
I received a copy of this book at no charge from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review.
